ADHD/ASD Assessments

At CTH, we are pleased to offer comprehensive mental health, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments to individuals 15 years of age and older. Across five to six 60-minute sessions, we gather data from psychological/diagnostic assessments that help us determine if an individual meets DSM 5 criteria for ADHD and/or ASD as well as other common mental health conditions. Our assessments are designed to offer an in-depth understanding of each individual's unique challenges and strengths.

Our team of qualified therapists is trained and skilled in diagnosing and providing psychotherapy interventions for neurodivergent conditions, including ADHD and ASD, ensuring a client-centered approach that respects individual and family contexts and experiences. However, it is important to know that our assessments are not the same as a full neuropsychological evaluation because we are not qualified to do cognitive (commonly referred to IQ and information processing) testing nor can we determine if an individual has a learning disability, even though ADHD and ASD often affect someone’s learning.

Over the course of 5-6 sessions, we employ a variety of methods that include standardized psychological/mental health assessments and diagnostic interviews. We may want to interview a significant person in your life who knows you well, to learn about their perspective on your challenges and strengths.

The final session will be an opportunity to collaboratively review the test results, assessment findings, and to provide a detailed report including tailored recommendations and resources. We often recommend strategies to manage daily life challenges, with an aim of empowering individuals and significant others (as needed/requested) with the knowledge and understanding of the conditions relevant to their functioning.

Deciding to do an assessment with us does not guarantee a diagnosis or ADHD, ASD or any other mental health diagnosis. For further information or to schedule an assessment and to ensure that it is a good fit for what you need, we invite you to fill out our inquiry form on our “inquiry” page. Our intake coordinator will follow up with you.

If you suspect that you may have ADHD and/or ASD and think that what we offer at CTH is a good fit for you, we will do our best to support and guide you to learn about yourself so that you can better manage your challenges and harness your strengths to live optimally.

Note: We recognize your readiness to begin this journey and are committed to maintaining clarity regarding our scheduling timeline. Currently, there is an estimated 2-6 month waiting period for assessments. If a member of our assessment team reaches out to you to get started, it is important that you are responsive as we will give the spot to the next person on our waitlist if we do not hear from you within one week.
